We would like to introduce you to the Psoriasis Support Canada Material Review Board! This board, comprised of one English-speaking and one French-speaking dermatologistDermatologist – [dur-muh-tol-uh-jist]
A specialist in dermatology, esp. a doctor who specializes in the treatment of diseases of the skin., reviews all medical-related content for the program.
As leaders in the field of dermatology, the board will provide expertise to help PSC disseminate accurate, beneficial information on psoriasis: practical tips and tools to manage the condition, how the condition affects a patient’s quality of life, the importance of seeking medical advice and speaking with a physician as well as understanding available treatment options.
Material Review Board

Norman Wasel, MD, FRCPC. Dermatologist
Dr. Norman Wasel is the director of Stratica Medical, a dynamic skin treatment and research facility in Edmonton, Alberta.
As an experienced clinician in Dermatology, he maintains a very active, full-spectrum clinical practice, offering his patients access to a full range of medical Dermatology services. He serves as Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Alberta, and is a licensed Dermatologist in both Alberta and the Northwest Territories.
Dr. Wasel has served as an investigator for 30 clinical trials, gaining knowledge and experience with a variety of experimental treatments. He maintains a focus on conducting high quality clinical research, along with his team of dedicated professionals.
Dr. Wasel trained in Dermatology at the University of Alberta, following medical studies at the University of Manitoba, and pre-medical studies at the University of Winnipeg where he was awarded the Gold Medal in Sciences.
Dr. Wasel serves on advisory boards and is a consultant for several pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.
Yves P. Poulin, MD, FRCPC. Dermatologist
Dr. Yves Poulin is Associate Clinical Professor, Department of Medicine,
He is the chairman of the Education Committee of the Quebec Dermatology Association.
He is Board Certified in Dermatology since 1983. He had his medical training and specialty formation in
Dr Poulin has been a medical examiner for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada for 9 years.
He is head of a private research center in dermatology. The current main areas of research are on psoriasis, eczema, acne and viral infections. Dr Poulin is or has been the principal investigator in more than 80 clinical trials in dermatology since 1997.
Dr. Poulin authored / co-authored more than 40 articles published in peer-reviewed medical journals.
