I am newly diagnosed with psoriasis. After 2 months of my lower legs itching intensely and then finally breaking out in a horrible rash, at the start of Dec, I was seen by 3 doctors. The first 2 just thought I had a 'dry winter weather' skin infection; the 3rd accurately diagnosed psoriasis on Dec 31. The itching was insane - like a hive of busy, moving bees under my skin. Ouch!!!
After only 2 weeks of using Dovobet ointment and taking some antibiotics (my legs WERE infected, but it was from scratching at the plaque areas so much!), things are clearing up nicely. I am sorry to say that once diagnosed, I made the mistake of surfing webMD and came across really bad pix of this condition - I literally felt depressed, thinking that mine could get that bad or never clear up. I have a wonderful and supportive spouse who told me he would never be bothered by it, but still, I felt this way. I am so relieved that the ointment seems to be working. Which I guess is my good news for the day - and, that I finally am learning to SPELL 'psoriasis'! I know now from reading some other comments from users that you just have to cope - so, thanks to all of you for providing some clear thinking to me on this issue...you are all 'good news' yourselves! :-)

I agree! Positive thinking certainly helps cope with the day-to-day challenges of psoriasis. Despite the changing Ontario weather, I am trying to just eat well and live well. Hopefully, Spring will bring clearer skin and happier days!

The good news for me is that today I am not in too much pain. there are good days and there are bad days. and there are really bad days that make the good days that much better...:)
