SkinZinc

We've recently heard about a product called SkinZinc. While we're not aware of any scientific studies, we are interested to know if anyone has tried it. If you have, please share your story with us.

I just hear the commercials - all the time. who knows if it really works...over-the-counter products for psoriasis never do. it's not about the skin on the outside - it's about the inside of your body and that's what causes the condition. I truly believe that no topical cream or ointment can really work effectively. in the 20 years that I've suffered from psoriasis - and I've tried everything - creams have never worked.

I heard about the ads as well and wanted more information.

I found Skin Zinc to work equally as well as Dovobet. It just gets ride of the plaque but for some that is good enough; including me.

My experience was not good. It made my flare up much worse and the itching nearly did me in. I would not recommend it, it was very expensive and I ended up throwing it out

My husband purchased these products for me and I was not impressed with the results at all. Certainly not worth the money.

I'm surprised about the comment that stated that Skin Zinc works as well as Dovobet. I disagree, I ended up throwing it out as well.

I purchased this product also. I like so many people am always looking for an answer to my skin problem. It was very expensive and did nothing at all for my skin. It's sad that people want to make money of other people's misfortune.

I used a product that is similar to skin zinc, called zinc zap. My dermatologist prescribed it and combined it with 0.05% Clobetasol in the zinc zap spray. This spray was great to get coverage over such a large portion of skin (all over my arms and legs and most of my back).

Initially, my reaction was same as most of yours.. very painful to apply, causes serious itching and almost seems to make the condition worse as it dries you out. But if you use it in combination with a moisturizer, in two weeks I was significantly better and often getting clear. The problem is that the psoriasis would often come back very fast, like within a month..

any product that claims to help psoriasis using "Zinc" without a steroid in it is useless.I have used dermazinc with clobetasol- a potent steroid(I think it has been replaced with another steroid now)and found it to work very well on the scalp,as well as being cost effective.Usually you will have to get the pharmacist to make this special order-they add the steroid powder, and you need to specify to the doctor when writing the script-strength is .05% I think but search for Dermazinc-company based out of Maine I believe. It is the steroid doing all the work-not the zinc.use as directed though.

I have been using zinc zap with clobetasol for my scalp, it works wonders, the scales dissappear,I started using it 2-3 times a week and am now down to once a month, or just when I need it. I never tried it on my body,it's the clobetasol that makes it work. Just like clobetasol cream, its a potent steroid, but since Im only using once a month I dont figure its a heavy dosage. I wouldn't waste my money on the advertised stuff.

I ordered Skin Zinc and it did nothing for my psoriasis. I personally think that whole product is a scam. Dovobet has been the best topical ointment I've used but unfortunately it's a steroid.

My dermatologist prescribed the spray and combined it with 0.25% Clobetasol. I often used it 2 times a day for 3 weeks. After 2 weeks of use, my psoriasis was 95% gone. I use a good moisturizer often with Vicks Vapo Rub to sooth my itchy skin. When the psoriasis comes, I start the regiment all over again. I like Zinc Zap and say try it.

I'm new to the site ... can someone please tell me what Zinc Zap is and how I could get it? Is it only used for the scalp or can I apply it on my body? Do I buy it first and then have my dermatologist add in the Clobetasol? Thanks in advance for your help!

I tried it and it didn't work at all. Had a lot of trouble getting "guaranteed" money back...

Yes, I purchased this product also, it was just a waste of money. The commercials are so convincing. They are just taking advantage of desperate people who would pay any amount of money to find a cure or help, how do they get away with these false promises.

SkinZinc didn't work as well with me. I ended up getting my money back. Dovobet Ointment by far has been the best and I'm currently on it. Although I haven't cleared, it makes me feel better moving on with life comfortably.
